Here’s another movie I’m definitely going to see this year. Fans of Liam Neeson rejoice as we get to see the follow-up to his 2008 thriller-action Taken, Taken 2.
Check out the trailer:
This time in Istanbul, Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA operative who took down a ring of Albanian human-traffickers a year earlier, gets a surprise visit from his daughter Kim and wife Lenore. Their happy family reunion gets messed up by men working for Murad, one of the fathers of Albanians he killed in search of his daughter.
They exact revenge by kidnapping his wife so Bryan springs back to deadly action in order to track down and rescue her. It’s nothing groundbreaking in terms of plot and story but to see Liam Neeson back as a retired CIA operative “with a very particular set of skills” would certainly be time well spent in the movie house.
With The Bourne Legacy coming up, one cannot help but think that Bryan Mills could be a predecessor to the Jason Bourne’s generation of CIA black ops agents. Wait, now isn’t that a cool idea for the film’s producers to play with?
Taken 2 will be out in October 5, 2012.
