Naruto Chapter 396: Uchiha Madara starts to tell truth

Another chapter of the hugely popular Naruto series has been released, Chapter 396: Introductions. In this chapter, Tobi/Uchiha Madara takes center stage as he proceeds to carry out his master plan in which it seems that Uchiha Itachi and Uchiha Sasuke plays very important roles.

After Madara receives word that the battle is over and that Itachi has been defeated by Sasuke, he speeds off to the scene of the battle and see for himself the outcome of bloody and monumental encounter between brothers.

At the end of the chapter, Madara really catches the world’s attention by doing two things:

Talking about revealing the “truth” about Uchiha Itachi
Taking his mask off

Naruto Chapter 394: Uchiha Itachi Dead

With Chapter 394 of the Naruto Manga series confirms the end of one of the story’s most phenomenal character, Uchiha Itachi. Love him or hate him, you cannot help but have a feeling that series has really moved into its closing stages now that the ‘Destroyer of the Uchiha Clan’ is dead.

At the end of their violent, bloody and epic battle, Itachi collapses inches away from obtaining Sasuke’s eyes. The most priced objects in the Naruto world next to the powers of the Kyuubi itself. Orochimaru, Uchiha Itachi and even Uchiha Madara all hungered and lusted for a new set of the dreaded Uchiha eyes which hold the sinister Sharingan and all of its unworldly powers.

What’s next for Sasuke?

It seems luck or fate is on the side of Sasuke as he will now walk away from this chapter of his life alive, intact and with both of his eyes. What will he do next? Now that he has succeeded in avenging his clan, what will be his next goal?

Will he fulfill his second one? Which is to revive his infamous Uchiha clan? Girls both from the Naruto and the real world would be delighted by this news. It would very interesting to see the other side of Uchiha Sasuke.

Or, would he pick up the trail he discovered from the tale Itachi told him. That aside from the two of them, there is still one remaining Uchiha, Uchiha Madara. We are now convinced that the eccentric Akatsuki member Tobi and the legendary Uchiha Madara are one and the same and on the other half of Chapter 394, the expanded Team Kakashi is currently battling the strange and mysterious character.

Once more, another link or “bond” exists between Sasuke and Naruto. How will this “bond” determine the outcome of the series, will soon find out.

Naruto Chapter 392: Itachi defeats Orochimaru for good!

It’s been a long while since I last posted a review about the Naruto Manga series which has taken us fans into a wild roller-coaster ride that has had Itachi and Sasuke fans the world over raving and raging over who’s going to be one of the last Uchihas alive.

In the latest installment, Chapter 392: Susano’O, Itachi demonstrates his awesome powers, something inherent in his previous techniques, Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu, their brother, Susano’O. Whom, in Shinto belief is the god of the sea and storms.

He was ‘summoned’ or this technique was used by Itachi after Sasuke survived both Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu draining both of them of their chakras in the process. On the other hand, Sasuke resorted to relying on the powers of the cursed seal. In a surprise of all surprises, this became the opportunity for one of the series’ longest-running villains to re spawn, Orochimaru himself!

Using his Hydra technique, Orochimaru attacked Itachi but it was all in vain. Susano’O beheaded all but one of the eight giant snakes and with that, Orochimaru revealed himself to ‘take care of some unfinished business’ himself. It was the definitely the end of the line for Orochimaru, for Itachi quickly disposed of him using the Sword of Totsuka as wielded by Susano’O. According to the manga, it is the one sword Orochimaru had been searching for all his life, for it has the powerful ability to seal anything or anyone away in a blissful-like genjutsu forever.

Another Sannin passes on

Talk about poetic justice and things coming full circle; Orochimaru being sealed away by the very sword he was searching for and by the one who had it all along Itachi, whom he first sought out in the early stages of the whole series. Orochimaru’s unrelenting and worldly ambitions has become his undoing and as much like Jiraiya, this Sannin’s end has been of epic and legendary scale.

On a good side though, I believe it has also cured Sasuke of the cursed seal as shown in the manga. But with no more tricks up his sleeve, is this definitely the end for Uchiha Sasuke?

Naruto Chapter 388: Sasuke defeats Itachi’s Tsukuyomi

The latest Chapter in the Naruto Manga series has just been released and it shows whether Itachi has indeed succeeded in plucking one of Sasuke’s eyes. This is where the previous Chapter 387 left off; Itachi’s true plans were to keep Sasuke as a spare source of the Sharingan so that when his eyes are sealed away into blindness due to using the Mangekyou Sharingan, he could recover his eyesight and almost unlimited powers by taking Sasuke’s own eyes and transplanting it in him.

However, much like the great part of the Sasuke vs Itachi battles in this current loop of the manga series, Itachi plucking one of Sasuke’s eyes was just another illusion, a genjutsu, as this Chapter 388: The Gap Between Our Power (download) reveals. Though it wasn’t just an ordinary illusion, it was Itachi’s famed Tsukuyomi technique.

What is Tsukuyomi?

The answer could be found in the archives of the Narutofan.com forums, user Sho lays down some basic information about this dreaded genjutsu of Itachi.

Within the Sharingan’s telepathic and hypnotical powers, the greatest genjutsu was created out of hypnosis: Tsukuyomi. On this earth, people are subject to things like time, gravity and air, and the people who can maximize their abilities are the ones who decide who is the winner and loser. However, Tsukuyomi gives the user the ability to drag his opponent to an imaginary world that the user builds, and restricts him in it.

Common sense does not apply in this imaginary world like it does in the real world. There is no possibilty of dispelling this genjutsu. People caught in this genjutsu do not know when this imaginary world will end, and the user controls everything. He shows them the punishment of hell. It makes the person caught in it crazy. Even if you are strong enough to break rocks, or fast as lightning, it matters not before this technique….that’s why this technique is feared.

If I’m not mistaken, this is the same technique used by Itachi on Hatake Kakashi when the latter former was with Kisame and attempted to kidnap Naruto shortly after the devastating attack on Konoha by Orochimaru and the Hidden Sand Village. Since “only those with the Sharingan” can dispell this technique, it is the reason why Kakashi barely survived the attack.

But Sasuke overcomes Tsukuyomi

Yep, the series’ hearthrob, Sasuke overcame and defeated the Tsukuyomi technique of his older brother Itachi. This is something that apparently has never happened before as Zetsu, one of the Akatsuki who’s been watching the battle all along, comments in great surprise.

This forces Itachi to use his “other”, rumored to be more deadlier eye technique, Amaterasu in his quest to fulfill his ‘dream’. Sasuke up to now continues to surprise both us and his older brother with his new capabilities and strenght. Question now is, will Sasuke again overcome what Itachi will throw at him? We would have to wait for the next chapter for us to find out.

Naruto Chapter 364: The Three Uchihas

It’s been a long while since I last wrote something about the awesome Naruto Manga series. The latest release, Chapter 364 entitled “The Target” answers a lot of the questions involving Akatsuki and the Uchiha clan.

The famed leader of the Akatsuki was once mistaken to be either the reincarnation of the Fourth Hokage who possessed the Sharingan. This however were proven wrong by the makers of Naruto and was admitted to be the result of a mishap in the clean-up of the manga scans last year.

Still, theories and assumptions about the identity of the Akatskui leader remained a hotly debated issue. As I’ve said nearly all questions were answered in Chapter 364. The leader of the Akatsuki is not the Fourth Hokage, however he does indeed possess the legendary Sharigan. What’s even more shocking and legendary is the the leader is none other than Madara Uchiha.

Who is Madara Uchiha? Well, no one really knows but looking back into the previous chapters especially the opening sequence of Naruto Shippuuden Anime series, the Kyuubi or the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox seems to know a lot about Uchiha Madara and the rest of the Uchiha clan.

Remember what the Kyuubi said to Sasuke when they met each other inside Naruto during a preview sequence in the very first episode of the Shippuuden series?

Kyuubi: I see, an Uchiha is it? Your growth is impressive. You can even see me inside Naruto. Such would be the power of your Sharingan, that cursed clan’s power.

Sasuke: Seems this isn’t the first time you’ve seen the Sharingan. If so, then you are [the] Kyuubi.

Kyuubi: Eyes with such power and chakra more sinister than my own… Just as Uchiha Madara was.

[Sasuke grabs the Kyuubi and dispereses it.]

Sasuke: And you expect me to know that person?

You heard it from the Kyuubi itself. The Uchiha clan and their Sharingan could become more powerful than even the great demon spirits. Perhaps this is the reason why as Chapter 364 reveals, an Uchiha, Uchiha Madara is the leader of the Akatsuki. He’s among the very few in the Naruto world who can control or influence the great demon spirits, the Kyuubi amongst them.

In this chapter, it’s also been revealed that there are more than 9 Akatsuki as originally impressed by the early chapters of the manga series. Now that Deidara and Tobi (?) are dead two new Akatsuki members make full appearances. A rose-wearing girl and Pain who looks a lot like the Fourth Hokage if you ask me.

This is the reason why that assumption came up in the first place. In the shadows, Pain and the Fourth Hokage resembled each other in silhouette. The appearance of Pain’s iris also fooled us into thinking that he too has the Sharingan. Now, things are more clear.

On the other hand, a certain part of the assumptions about the Akatsuki leader is true. That he indeed has the Sharingan, so therefore he is an Uchiha, not just any ordinary Uchiha, but the Uchiha Madara. Though I’m a bit confused because Uchiha Madara wears the same one-eyed swirled face mask as Tobi wears. We didn’t really see Tobi in action and it was shown he was killed along with Deidara in the latter’s final explosion jutsu. Hmm….possibilities are still open.

Now there are three Uchihas in the Naruto world; Uchiha Sasuke, his older brother Uchiha Itachi and their long not-so-lost relative; Uchiha Madara.

The manga series continues to be more and more exciting with each chapter. In the following chapters we will see more action, this time from Naruto’s side as they are now the targets of Pain and his female Akatsuki partner. I just can’t wait!
