Last week, the awesome Noisy Ade sent me an invite to preview Google Wave. It’s one of the newest tools from Google, an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration and it has garnered quite an excitement and anticipation ever since it was announced last May. It was designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking in one account.

Just like in the early days of Gmail, the only way to get your hands on Google Wave was to be invited by someone else who’s already using it. When I got mine, I was excited, as I’ve been eager and curious to take it out for a spin.

Well, the excitement died down after the first 10 minutes of poking around and trying things to see how they worked. After that, all I did was stare at it. Just stared at it. Being an on-line real-time communication and collaboration tool, it was pretty useless if you’re the only one who owns a Google Wave account. You need to have your friends and colleagues on board to really see and use its features and potential.

Perhaps Google should just give out more invites or simply open it to the public for the new tool to really pick up, be put through its paces and for Google to really make some waves, so to speak.

So what to do with my Google Wave account? To be honest, I don’t know. For those who already have their Wave accout, how is it going along?
