So it’s another clever interpretation of how Technorati sees your blog. Wonder what would the Web 2.0 version of Technorati would be like? How will it rank this blog? Still, it’s very creative and would appeal to almost everyone. Heck, I’m quite happy with the rating it gave this blog.

Hope my sponsors will consider this when they evaluate the things I’ve done with this free .com.ph domain and continue to keep it open for free. :D There’s still six months to go, plenty of time to improve this blog, its content, design and meet more blogging friends!

But I don’t want to do that, I want the best of both worlds. I want to keep using Gmail with all of its cool features and mindblowing storage space (over 2 GB and still counting!) while using my new jhay [at] jrocas [dot] com [dot] ph address all at the same time. This has been made possible thanks to a feature called mail forwarding and the ability of Gmail to handle all your other e-mail addresses as different accounts.

How? Again, logging in to my .com.ph + domain’s Cpanel, I can configure my native e-mail account (jhay at jrocas dot com dot ph) to forward all the e-mails it recieves to my Gmail account (jhaykage at gmail dot com). I now log in to my Gmail and proceed to creat a new account or “Send mail as:” profile which means you can use Gmail to send from your other email addresses.

I spent my entire free hours this morning to finish the setup, configuration and customization of new my Gmail powered-.com.ph e-mail accounts. Sir Angelo Racoma was even surprised at how quick I was accepted to beta test this ‘Gmail for your domain’ service by Google and also the quickness of how I’ve gone through the setup process.

Then I just found out this morning during the customization and setup of this service that it is much harder to switch e-mail accounts or migrate to a new one than migrating your website to a new webhost and domain. It’s similar to the feeling of loosing your old cellphone and it would only get worse once your mind focuses on the fact that you’ve lost sim card, phone book, all the special/important messages and all the contacts as well. I just hope I can get out of this ‘adjustment period’ soon enough.

It was then I later realised, with the wisdom of Sir Agelo, that TLA team made perfect sense. My old site has already built up a considerable amount of traffic and link popularity, that’s why I was able to sell those ad spaces via Text-Link-Ads, and it would be unfair to the said advertisers because I would put their ads on a site that has yet to build up its own decent amount of traffic and readership, and more importantly, they did not pay to advertise on this new site, they did that on my old site.

I made some quick adjustments in my ‘blog reboot plan’, removed the domain redirection and returned the old http://jhay.lsjp.org back online. Not just to keep the TLA ads, but as to have it as my archives site and secondary blog. That explains, in part, the housecleaning I did to remove the duplicate contents (since they were already posted first in the old blog) in this site which is now my primary or main blog.
