Let us support Noland Penas, a SUMILAO Farmer

To all who read and will visit this blog, let me take a few moments of your time to share with you a call for help of one of the noblest and bravest souls that has ever lived, Noland Penas – De La Salle University – Dasmariñas and SENTRO Alumnus, SPREAD Scholar, LCDC/SERVE volunteer and one of the brave Sumilao farmers from Bukidnon.

His daughter, Lakam is in a dire state of medical illness and he wrote the following message to air his call for help:

Magandang Araw!

Ako po si Noland Peñas ama ni LAKAM GAIZARHEA na dumudulog po sa inyo na tulongan po ako sa kasalukuyang sakit na dinaranas ng aking anak.

Sa ngayon po ay may 90 percent na assumption ang kanyang Docotr na mayron siyang Billary Atresia o isang malubhang sakit sa kanyang Liver at Gal Bladder.

Si LAKAM po ay na hospitalized na for 12 days at dumanas na siya ng Spontaneous Intra-Ceribral Bleeding sa kanyang utak dahilan upang maapektohan ang kanyang kaliwang bahaging utak.

Ito ay nangyari dahil impaired po ang kanyang bleeding parameters o cloting factors na ang responsableng organ ay ang kanyang Liver.

Halos maubos na po ang resources ng aming pamilya para sa kanyang pagpapagamot at siya po ay dapat na madala sa Philippine general Hospital para sa Liver-Biopsy upang matiyak na Billary Atrexia at para na rin siya ay masuri kung kelangan ba na mag Liver transplant sa kanya.

Sana po ay matulongan ninyo ako, kung sino man po ang nakakakilla sa akin o sa may gustong mag-abot ng tulong. Higit pong kailangan ng aking anak ng suporta dahil siya po ay nagpapakita ng lakas ng loob na malampasan ang mga pagsubok na ito.

Si Lakam po ay unanag anak namin na naging bunga sa kalagitnaan nga pakikibaka sa Sumilao Farmers para sa 144 hectares na lupain sa Sumilao Bukidnon. Higit po siyang mahalaga sa akin at sa aming pamilya sapagkat siya ang nagpapatunay na dapat kami ay huwag sumuko sa anomang pagsubok.

The fight land, liberty and justice goes on. Along side, the struggle to survive remains ever so constant. The current EVIL Arroyo administration has done nothing to help the plight of the Sumilao farmers thus adding more to their sins. We must not only fight the evils in our society but must also care for their victims amidst us. For if they will perish along the way, the battle we will win might not be worth all the efforts and sacrifices we put into it.

I call upon all Lasallians all over the Philippines and the world, be you an alumnus, student, faculty, staff or supporter of the Lasallian family, let us band together not just to fight and get rid of evil from this country, but also to save its victims especially if it’s one of our fellow Lasallians.
