I play a load of online games too!!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('7792','trench','I open photoshop, firefox, my email, a few messengers and so forth so this could actually be helpful if I could get a hold of one.
That is nice. I think I have a good use on that since I use my PC quite heavily especially when using Avid or other film editing programs
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('7783','charles ravndal','That is nice.
It's cool, but since my PC needs aren't that heavy, a dual core may actually be enough for me.
Reply - Quote

I have not read any review of this newest Intel chip.

And as you rightly concluded, unless one is into serious gaming need for this type of speed is very minimal. But one has to understand that for these very expensive chips the marketing is iniitally directed to a very specialized niche market - the gamers who are not averse to spending tons of money for their machines. Not only in CPUs but most everything you can find inside the box - gargantuan RAM, intricate cooling system using liquid coolant, the most advanced sound cards, etc. Even the box itself is well-appointed.

And re overclocking, as far as I know Intel chips have not performed as well as the cheaper chips of say, AMD. One reason has been because Intel discourages the practice. And secondly, it doesn't pay to use a high-priced chip for overclocking and risk frying it.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('7720','Amadeo','I have not read any review of this newest Intel chip.\r\n\r\nAnd as you rightly concluded, unless one is into serious gaming need for this type of speed is very minimal.
