I write like Cory Doctorow

I have Ms Connie Veneracion to thank for this, it was on her blog post about vampires and bats that I found my way to I Write Like. It is a website that has a tool for ‘analyzing’ your writing and tell you which famous author you write like.

Curious as to which famous writer I write like, I pasted in three of posts I’ve written as opinion pieces instead of for SEO-purposes. And the result is:

I write like

Who is Cory Doctorow? Let me borrow his image and concise bio right from his blog Craphound:

Cory Doctorow (craphound.com) is a science fiction author, activist, journalist and blogger — the co-editor of Boing Boing (boingboing.net) and the author of the or Teens/HarperCollins UK novels like FOR THE WIN and the bestselling LITTLE BROTHER. He is the former European director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and co-founded the UK Open Rights Group. Born in Toronto, Canada, he now lives in London.

And I am humbled. I’ve read his latest blog post and I agree, we write in the same manner. But that is the beginning and end of our similarities. However, it’s no reason to hide in the shadows. It’s quite the opposite. He has just become another inspiration for me to continue writing, keep on blogging and improving my craft. And someday I know, I will be a famous writer too.

Curious as to know which writer you write like? Check out I Write Like and find out. You’d be amazed at the discovery.
