Alot of people posting here seem to be impressed by looking at just the download and upload speeds, What they don't seem to notice is the ping in most cases. The main problem with globelines is the ping (latency). Pinging to a node 50 miles away should be somewhere in the 10ms range but i never see anything lower than 75ms. Pinging the same node at different times will sometimes result in a much higher ping in the 200+ range. Pinging random server reveals anywhere from 300 to 1500 ms. Clearly this connection is not good enough to do the stuff broadband connections are supposed to be able to deliver like online gaming.
I too have noticed the customer service is not the same as it used to be, now it takes hours of calling to get a call center rep to answer, having to sit on the phone listening to the same 10 sec advertisement blasting in my ear over and over again for hours makes me want to cancel my account.
Will globelines ever fix their latency problems ? if i had to guess i would say no.

Gonna have to wait until some cable providers expand to the major cities and if they provide a better connection at the same price it will put all these crappy broadband pretending dsl providers out of the market quick fast and in a hurry.
