Alright, this ground-breaking photo of a Gorilla couple copulating face-to-face or called technically as ventro-ventral copulation was taken in a forest clearing in the Republic of Congo, it was released by scientists from the Wildlife Conservation Society and Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology.

According to them, the scientists and not the Gorillas, this is the first time it has been photographed or documented in the wild. It offers a lot of insight into Gorilla behavior, evolution and society which in turn provides a glimpse into humans’ own lovemaking, and evolution, behavior, society, psychology and so on.

Why go nuts over Gorilla p0rn?

Now why is this arousing, so to speak, evolutionists, biologists, anthropologists, other geeks and scientists and of course the very few who get turned on by Gorilla p0rn?

Remember those documentaries from the National Geographic about how Orangutans, another Great Ape and cousin of ours, reacted when they saw themselves in a mirror? Where the other lesser apes and monkeys went ‘bananas’ when confronted by the same, Great Apes reacted differently. Some scientists even forwarded that the Apes had some sort of realization, they became aware that what they saw in the mirror was not another ape, but themselves. Proving that they have a complex intelligence and a higher form of psychology which moves them closer to use humans in the evolutionary family tree.

What’s in it for us humans?

This link provided a wealth of insight into our own evolutionary family, apes and humans, and our evolutionary journey: origin and future. More would be learned from the Great Apes if only we could read their minds or fully understand their thoughts, expressions, feelings and maybe, just maybe, their vocabulary.

For now, all we could do are make educated guesses from our organized observations. I think this is one of the very few photos that give animal porn sexual behavior great scientific value.

If you have your own captions for the photo do share them in the comments below. Or if you a more educated insight do share them as well.
