A$$loads of link loves

Okay, okay. This post will contain lots of link love, as the title is dead give away, to new blogs and bloggers, a few interesting finds in the net and some age-old posts from this blog as well.

First of all, an interesting article by Manolo Quezon III; Si Rizal at ang Pilosopiya ng Pagtitiis which practically explains why Rizal was the ‘pacifist’ as contrast to Andres Bonifacio the feiry father of the Philippine Revolution. Personally, I prefer Bonifacio’s way of achieving independence and sovereignty over Rizal’s compromising stance. The speech by MLQ3 is a good read, but as far as I’m concerned, “Hanggang kailan ka magtitiis?”

This buzz about Rizal is of course brought on by the celebration of his birth anniversary today. Again, if I were to become president, I’d move the celebration of Rizal Day to June 19, his birth day so that we would remember and celebrate his life instead of killing him all over again everytime December 30 comes around. This idea has always been put forward by Philippine Commentary.

As for my own contribution to this fiasco, I’ll point out that Rizal is not the son of Adolf Hitler (hat tip once more to MLQ3) and my own original question, “Was Rizal gay?”

Enough of Rizal and history for now, let’s go back to the present, in fact let’s look forward to July 3, 2007 as an exciting event for bloggers is brewing right in the horizon.

Finally, a viral link love scheme

Got this from Jaypee, since my blog has been idle for like 7 days and traffic has went down, this little viralink would do wonders.

Here’s how it works:

It was started by a blogger named Andy Coates and he calls it the Viralink. If you want your blog to reach a wide audience, you can join this link train. It will give you more exposure to other blogs and websites.

To join, just follow the instructions below.

1.) Copy and paste the entire matrix of “ViralTags” below.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “ViralTags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice containing your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a maximum of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “ViralTags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “ViralTags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

Important: Once I get a ping back from you, I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have from your anchor text. If everybody who copies and pastes from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. Remember, the sooner you participate, the more links you will receive!

==========end copy and paste here=================

Come on, join in the viral link train, or if you’re in the Philippine by July 3, 2007 join us at the Taste of Asia blogger meetup.

Lastly, if any of the links are erroneous, ping me and I’ll fix it.

  1. hmm. some in the academe (esp. in UP) have the viewpoint that rizal was actually pushing for armed struggle, and this is the viewpoint that i share (credit that to my PI 100 class under one of these professors). armed struggle, tempered only by the capability of the oppressed to responsibly wield the freedom they will get. it took me several full readings of the noli and el fili, as well as pio valenzuela's accounts and rizal's other essays, but in the end, that was the opinion i formed. rizal's message was not a direct, straightforward message.

of course, a debate on this matter will never cease 😉 it's enough that we commemorate and cherish the memory of rizal this day. (oops, it's the 20th already!)
