Unethical to link your profile to your blog?

I just read a post in ProBlogger tackling the issue of linking your profile pages from social networking sites (Yahoo 360, MySpace, Squidoo, Friendster etc.) to your own blog and its ethical implications.
It was picked up from SEOmoz blog in which they asked,
If you employ tactics like the use of Flickr, MySpace, Blogger, Squidoo, etc. [...]

Intel ships Core Duo 2.33GHz and Forbes’ Top 100 Celebs

Yes, that’s Dan Brown in the Top 10 of the list, where J.K. Rowling and John Grisham are down at 19 and 80 respectively. The movie may have sucked, but the lucky son of a gun has gotten away with it.

Formula 1 superstar Michael Schumacher gains over Tom Hanks, they’re 30 and 31 respectively while Kobe Bryant is in at 25 ahead of NBA legend Michael Jordan who’s at 26. On top of them all, American Idol judge Simon Cowell is at 29. Completing the list at 100 is Ty Pennington…honestly, I haven’t heard of her before

Pope puts pedal to the metal

“Excuse me, Your Holiness,” says the driver, “Would you please take your seat so we can leave?”
“Well, to tell you the truth,” says the Pope, “they never let me drive at the Vatican when I was a cardinal, and I’d really like to drive today.”
“I’m sorry, Your Holiness, but I cannot let you do that. I’d lose my job! And what if something should happen?” protests the driver, wishing he’d never gone to work that morning.
“Who’s going to tell?” says the Pope with a smile.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the airport, the Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph. (Remember, he’s a German Pope.)

Ethical points to ponder

Sinabi ni Dr. Patch Adams, (totoong doctor siya ha, hindi lang pelikula ni Robin Williams) “Our jobs as doctors are not to prolong death but to improve the quality of life. Why are we so mortaly afraid of death? Isn’t that the natural order of things? Why can’t we face death and treat it with human decency and God forbid even humor?”

Intel has a new house, I cleaned up mine

It was then I later realised, with the wisdom of Sir Agelo, that TLA team made perfect sense. My old site has already built up a considerable amount of traffic and link popularity, that’s why I was able to sell those ad spaces via Text-Link-Ads, and it would be unfair to the said advertisers because I would put their ads on a site that has yet to build up its own decent amount of traffic and readership, and more importantly, they did not pay to advertise on this new site, they did that on my old site.

I made some quick adjustments in my ‘blog reboot plan’, removed the domain redirection and returned the old http://jhay.lsjp.org back online. Not just to keep the TLA ads, but as to have it as my archives site and secondary blog. That explains, in part, the housecleaning I did to remove the duplicate contents (since they were already posted first in the old blog) in this site which is now my primary or main blog.

Diarrhea…good or bad karma

So the what’s the solution? Good karma, and being the desperately God-fearing Filipino that she is, the President visits the Pope in Rome bearing gifts…as offerings for blessings and protection? To ward off the calling of ‘Mang Doro’?

If there’s one person who needs protection, aside the President herself - from the threat of being impeached and booted out of her seat in Malacañang to end up in the gleaming porcelain ‘thinking chair’ - that other person is Pope Benedict XVI. Recall that before the late Pope John Paul II died, he was paid a visit by Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo clad in a black dress with a matching veil as if she has just arrived or came to early as it turned out, to a funeral.
